Panamas offers many tours and activities to keep you busy during your visit. Here are just a few of Panama's activities, adventures tours and things to do.
Enjoy a morning wreck dive near the bay of Portobelo, the burial place of Sir Francis Drake and one of the most important cities in the world during the Spaniard's conquest of the new world. Visit the ruins of this obscure location virtually before tourism has yet to find it. The inhabitants of Portobelo live as they always have with their homes built up against the ruins of the old conquistadors' fortresses. History is alive here and you can almost feel the presence of the conquistadors' ghosts as our guide spins tales of the history of Portobelo. Another attraction is the statue of the Black Christ, which washed ashore after a ship wreck and is now enshrined in a local church. Sir Francis Drake is buried at sea near Drake's Island where many a hopeful diver has no doubt searched for the famous lead coffin.
Panama has the best championship golf courses in all of Central
America. The two most well known golf facilities in the area are
the course at Coronado and the Summit Golf Resort. Coronado is an
18-hole par 72 course offering 7,092 yards of professional play.
This course is especially beautiful for its fruit trees, including
the abundance of Mango trees, which surround the greens and
fairways. To put it simply, the course is considered a jewel in
all of Latin America.
Nestled in the forests of the Panama Canal watershed lays Summit
Golf and Resort. This luxurious complex includes two courses, the
first of which has 18 holes and the second, designed especially
for kids, has 6 holes. Summit Golf and Resort is the only facility
of its kind in Latin America equipped with GPS technology. This
resort also caters to children by offering a family center, day
care and games for all ages. Sounds like it couldn't get any
better? It does. The Summit Golf and Resort is just a
twenty-minute drive from downtown Panama.
The sport fishing in Panama is as incredible as you will find anywhere on the planet. Crystal clear waters and an abundance of fish holding structure attracts large numbers of the blue water big game species that the South Pacific is famous for.
Offshore blue and black marlin, sailfish, tuna, dorado and wahoo are the popular targets while inshore anglers hunt the roosterfish and snappers, snook, grouper and more.
